The Cinema

The Cinema is a cosy place in a loft at the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavík. Our films give you a unique opportunity to understand how Iceland was made in volcanic eruptions and why it is still so volcanically active. And our film about the NORTHERN LIGHTS explains why you see them - and why not at all times! We are part of an Icelandic film production company - Lifsmynd Film Production - which is run by a family of filmmakers, film producers and a scriptwriter / professional guide. Valdimar Leifsson is a filmmaker and he studied filmmaking in LA, California. He has been working as a filmmaker for over 30 years and specialized in nature and documentary films. In The Cinema are shown some of Lifsmynd´s nature and culture films, many of which were originally made for Icelandic television. The films have been translated and are narrated in English, some also in German and one in French.
