Once the site of Iceland’s first wool mill, today Álafosskvos blends Iceland’s industrial past with its creative present, and it’s a low-key delight to explore this pocket of local craftsmanship on the banks of the Varmá river. Route 7 departs from Egilshöll in Leirvogstunga in Mosfellsbær and serves both Grafarvogur and Mosfellsbær.
Route 15 connects Mosfellsbær with Reykjavík Centre and passes through Grafarvogur.
Route 27 departs towards Mosfellsdalur from Mosfellsbær.
Route 106 (Night Bus): On Friday and Saturday nights, a night bus is available that departs from Lækjartorg to Mosfellsbær. Consider buying Reykjavík City Card for free unlimited bus travel within the Reykjavík capital area.
