Artists from Iceland and Norway perform Icelandic and Norwegian Folk Dance Music and invite guests to dance.
The event is a part of the publication of Danslög Jónasar (Jónas' Dance Tunes) 2025.
Artists from Iceland and Norway will perform dance music from aforementioned countries.
The event is a part of Danslög Jónasar (e. Jónas' Dance Tunes), a publication of a musical manuscript from the 19th century that contains dance music that was played in Reykjavík around 1864.
Icelandic and Norwegian dance and music will be performed in the Nordic house and the audience will be invited to dance.
Vegar Vårdal, Norwegian folk musician and folk musician of the year in Norway in 2020, will play selected tunes from Icelandic and Norwegian tradition and Atli Freyr Hjaltason, folklorist, will play Icelandic dance tunes on the accordion and dance to Vegar's accompaniment with Elizabeth Katrín Mason.
This is a unique opportunity to get to know Icelandic, Norwegian and Nordic folk dance culture.
