The Basque band Kalekantoi, which has been performing in various locations in the Westfjords recently, will hold a concert at the Reykjavik City Hall on Culture Night, Saturday, August 23rd at 16:00. The band consists of a family, a father and his three daughters, and they play traditional Basque music on a variety of traditional Basque instruments such as Trikiti, Dultzaina, Alboka, and more. During the concert, the Basque Imanol Mendi, who has worked in Djúpavík, will introduce the different instruments that will be played and present Basque music as well as provide background on some of the songs.
