Vörr is a sound installation made from paper speakers.
Sounds are played through the speakers and due to the fragility of the paper, the sounds make the speakers move.
The history of Hafnarhús of The Reykjavík Art Museum is a huge inspiration for the piece as the sea and waves influenced the way the speakers move.
Ása Önnu Ólafsdóttir is a composer, sound artist, guitarist, and improviser. She goes by the artist name Asalaus and has been active in the underground music scene in Reykjavík. Ása has released a few albums, both as Asalaus and as a member of the band Ateria. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources, Ása blends elements from each to create works that are both familiar and wholly original. Her practice is focused on experiments with sound and notation.
The piece is part of Vængjasláttur, an event by Listhópar Hins hússins.
