Hope, a vertical dance performance with Heidi Miikki Where: Harpa facade When: Saturday, August 23, 16:20 - 16:50 Free access and everybody welcome The event is part of the program on Harpa square on Reykjavík Culture Night, offered by Landsbankinn, Hafnartorg and Harpa. --- Vertical dance performance HOPE is Heidi Miikki’s solo work and tells about radical and active hope, daring to dream and to be rebellious. The project explores through movement the themes of activism, hope and action and the power of the individual and the community. The piece wants to deal with challenging questions of what is meaningful, what is enough and how we can find hope and keep on dreaming towards a better future. Heidi Miikki is a dance and circus artist, who works in Europe with vertical dance, aerialacrobatics, tightwire and contemporary dance.In her work she combines environmentalism and performing arts and works actively in the core crew of performing arts company Acting for Climate with performing, producing and artistic directing. Heidi has worked with several companies and groups both in Finland and abroad and made her own multidisciplinary solo work combining dance, circus, video, music and societal burning issues.
