The animal keepers have decided to focus on the reindeer, which are one of the few wild land mammals in Iceland. They were brought to the country in the late 18th century with the goal of strengthening Icelandic agriculture, they were meant to become one of the domesticated animals of Iceland. Those interested can learn more about these magnificent representatives of East Iceland during an educational session at 2:00 PM by the reindeer house.
