During the Bank Holiday Weekend, kids can play and learn outdoor games at Árbær Open Air Museum, ride a swing, or try out hula hoops and other toys. At 13:00 and onwards, guests can compete in various games, such as sack race and tug of war. The museum has a wide selection of outdoor toys that kids can use as they please, such as hula hoops, jump ropes, stilts and, most importantly, cool box cars. Then you can grab a badminton racket, and the old-fashioned playground has toys and a sandbox. Free admission for children, people with disabilities and holders of the Reykjavík City Card and Culture Card. Accessibility: The museum’s footpaths are mainly gravel. Many historic houses have steps and thresholds. Service dogs are welcome. Public Transport: Nearest bus stop: Árbæjarsafn (1-minute walk). Other stops: Laxakvísl and Fagribær (5–6 minutes away). Free parking, including blue-badge parking spots opposite the entrance, is available.
