The Yule Ornamentorio is a series of events and an Advent exhibition presented by Associate Gallery in collaboration with Kokka, which has generously provided space in its café at Laugavegur 47. The title references The Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach, regarded by many as an essential and festive part of the Advent season. Associate Gallery’s Yule Ornamentorio will be equally festive, but instead of choirs and church pews, we’re offering seasonal ornaments and musical compositions created by ten diverse artists in four groups. The events will unfold as follows:

December 1:Pétur Eggertsson & Ýr Jóhannsdóttir
December 8: Klemens Hannigan & Salóme Katrín
December 15: Gunnar Gunnsteinsson & Una Björg Magnúsdóttir
December 22: Gunnhildur Halla Ármannsdóttir & Tríó Sól

Admission to the event series is free as space allows, and we note that Kokka is wheelchair accessible, with a welcoming space for parents with young children and a range of refreshments.

🤝 Associate Gallery and The Yule Ornamentorio are supported by Kokka, Reykjavík City og Jólaborgin 2024.
