Remember when you were in history class at school? Do you remember all the women you learned about? No? Neither do we. However, that does not mean that this half of humanity has not done anything that is worth telling.
Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir, mezzo-soprano, and Alda Rut Garðarsdóttir Vestmann, pianist, will pay tribute to some of the lesser-known composers of the Baroque era. All the composers have in common that they were born women and as a result have not been given their place in music history despite having been influential in their time. The music is wonderful and Tinna and Alda are going to present it to new listeners in Harpuhorn at 13:00 on October 27. The composers whose works will be performed are:
Francesca Caccini
Barbara Strozzi
Elisabeth Jaquet de la Guerre
Francesca Campana
Participants:
Tinna Þorvalds Annudóttir
singer and actress
Alda Rut Vestmann
pianist
