On Saturday, April 5th, Sóley Jóhannsdóttir will present her first fashion collection, inspired by her ideas on sleepwalking and how fashion can capture the impressions of this dreamlike state. The collection is a blend of romantic silhouettes and rugged outerwear. The styling draws inspiration from this dream state—when people sleepwalk and engage in all sorts of unconscious behaviors, including dressing themselves in a completely unaware manner. The materials used in the collection include leather, silk, fabric made from rose petals, Icelandic wool, cotton, and nylon. Doors open at 8:00 PM, and the show starts at 8:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served. Sóley Jóhannsdóttir graduated with a master’s degree in fashion design from Francaise de la Mode in Paris in 2020 after completing her BA at the University of Brighton in 2017. In the summer of 2024, she attended a tailoring course at Savile Row, focusing on pattern making and the "made to measure" method. For the past four years, Sóley has been designing for the French fashion house Louis Vuitton. Before that, she worked for brands such as Lemaire and Paul Smith. Last year, Sóley began volunteering in collaboration with Louis Vuitton and Fabrique Nomad, with the outcome of the project being exhibited at the Louvre this past January.
