Come paint and explore the depths of the Westfjords! At Ásmundarsalur, Dýpi presents a new ocean-based paint made from Icelandic calcified seaweed. In the depths of Arnarfjörður lies a hidden world of calcified algae, known for their purifying and health-enhancing properties. Over the past two years, Sirrý and Arný have worked on harnessing these qualities to develop a new product: Dýpi – Ocean Paint, a high-pH paint that naturally prevents mold and bacterial growth. At the workshop, guests are invited to explore the unique properties of the paint, experiment with textures and colors, and actively take part and explore —painting walls and mixing color samples to take home. Paint and explore! - workshop Thursday 20-22 Friday 14-16 Saturday 14-17 Sunday 14-17 Dýpi is a two-year-old innovation company founded by entrepreneur Sirrý Ágústsdóttir and architect Árný Þórarinsdóttir. Their mission is to create Icelandic ocean-based paint using calcified seaweed from Arnarfjörður, a place deeply connected to Sirrý’s heritage.
