Come and learn to create your own magic symbol. The artist Otilia Martin Gonzalez will host Sigils workshop for teenagers in Sólheimar City Library.

Sigils are magic symbols that represent an intention, something you would like to bring to your life. In this workshop you will learn what Sigils are, and how you can use them. Otilia will guide you through the process of Sigil creation and you will learn different methods to visualise your intentions into a symbol. At the end of the workshop, you will have created several sigils that you can use in different ways.

Otilia Martin Gonzalez is a Spanish artist and designer born in Germany and based in Reykjavik. With an education in visual communication and an interest in art, she started her art career while studying advertising in the University of Seville (Spain). Her art practise evolves around the unconscious mind, dreams and visual symbolic language, and is multi-disciplinary, with digital art, texts, drawings and installations. She has exhibited in Spain, Japan, Iceland, Romania, UK, Finland and Italy, and won Vazquez Diaz Awards (Spain).

Otilia is member of SIM, Samband Íslenskra Myndlistarmanna (Association of

Icelandic Artists).

The workshop will be held in English and is free of charge, including all materials. Please register on Borgarbokasafn.is (from October 1st).
