Dates: June 10-13, 2025 from 10:00-17:00 Location: Sigursveinn Music School, Hraunberg 2, 111 Reykjavík Please note that the camp is now 4 days for 13-16 year olds. For whom? The rock camps are for girls, trans boys, non-binary and intersex kids aged 13-16. No prior musical knowledge is required! What are we offering? The kids get instrument lessons, go to band rehearsals, attend workshops in songwriting, rock history and more and play at the final concert. The organization’s volunteers manage the group, teach the instruments and play games. We also get visits from various fun experts who educate us about various social issues. We use empowering methods in our teachings and try to create a safe and comfortable space for participants. Facilities and accessibility The Sigursveinn Music School in Hraunberg is on two floors and most of the work takes place on the first floor. There is no elevator in the building, only stairs. We ask participants with mobility impairments to let us know in the registration form so that we can arrange the person’s schedule so that it is only on the first floor. Lunch The children receive daily refreshments during coffee time but must bring a packed lunch with them. How much does it cost? The price is optional, but you can base it on a reference participation fee. 13-16 years: 35,000 ISK. No participants will be turned away due to lack of funds, free and subsidized places are available. The project is run on a volunteer basis and therefore all voluntary donations above the minimum fee are welcome. The amount chosen has no effect on the participant’s chances of getting into the course, only the first registrations are selected.
