Over the past few weeks, Ásta Fanney has been working on a project in progress at Undraland, an experimental initiative by the Reykjavík Art Museum at Ásmundarsafn
On Sunday, June 8, she invites guests to view the results and enjoy light refreshments at a garden party, weather permitting (or indoors). During her time in Ásmundarsafn, Ásta Fanney has explored images, objects, recordings, and other materials related to her previous works. She has also hosted various guests for what she calls a “fake-cast” — staged conversations in the style of a podcast. In addition, she has performed live, engaged in dialogue with visitors, and produced photographic works, among other things.
Throughout the year 2025, artists are invited to work publicly at Ásmundarsafn, offering visitors insight into the creative processes behind their art. The first artist was Unnar Örn, and following Ásta Fanney, Halldór Ásgeirsson will be presenting a work in progress during the summer months.
