Flóð & fjara and Textíl Barinn invite guests of the Cultural Night to participate in creating artwork from threads using the techniques of weaving and macramé knotting.
This creates a beautiful time of togetherness with an unexpected combination of people of all ages. At the event, people can find an outlet for creativity, participate in socializing and being outdoors.
You are also welcome to bring your own knitting or other handicrafts projects and participate in the class.
The goal is to use recycled and leftover yarn and thereby demonstrate what can be done with that material.
All handicrafts aim to be suitable for children and adults of all ages, beginners as well as advanced.
Handicrafts are a healing activity and if practiced in a group or together with others, the power and magic increase. Creativity increases well-being and seeing work being created in your own hands is empowering and enjoyable.
The idea is to allow the flow of the mind, heart and hands to create and trust that the result will be what it is supposed to be. This is a liberating activity that calms the nervous system but stimulates positive activity in the brain.
All are welcome.
