The salonband L’amour fou returns after a short break and will hold a concert in Tónabíó - RVK Brewing .Co on Sunday evening, May 18th at 8pm. L’amour fou is currently working on a new album and will play new material at the concert. The program includes songs by, among others, Mugison, Teitur Magnússon, Svavar Knútur, KK, Emiliana Torrini as well as old movie hits by Charlie Chaplin and Carlos Gardel from the band's collection. The concert lasts just over an hour - free admission.
L’amour fou members are Hrafnhildur Atladóttir, violin, Guðrún Hrund Harðardóttir, viola, Hrafnkell Orri Egilsson, cello, Gunnlaugur Torfi Stefánsson, double bass and Tinna Þorsteinsdóttir, piano.
L'amour fou was formed in 1999 and held its first concert at the Kaffileikhúsið in December the same year. The band released the album Íslensku lögin in 2005, which contains old Icelandic popular songs arranged by Hrafnkell Orri for a salon orchestra. The album has been one of the most played albums on Rás 1 ever since. L'amour fou performed in the 2010 Icelandic New Year's Eve program, Álfareiðin, which was nominated for the 2011 Edda Awards as a culture and lifestyle program of the year. In recent years, the band has performed at the Summer concerts at Kvoslækur and at Salurinn in Kópavogur.
