Why don‘t you start your new year with a little plant magic?
English writer Albert Björn Shiell will do a talk on Icelandic Plant Magic at the Reykjavík Botanic Garden‘s Display Greenhouse on Tuesday January 7th at 18:00.
Albert focusses on examples from Icelandic folklore, as well as exploring connections to Europe and wider magical traditions. In his talk Albert will share some examples of the magical thinking behind the folklore and how it still informs contemporary practice today.
The talk will be a mixture of folklore, history, medicine and contemporary magic and will be held in English. Entry is free of charge and all are welcome to join!
Albert Björn Shiell is the author of the books Icelandic Plant Magic – The Herbalism of the North and Icelandic Folk Magic – Witchcraft of the North.
