Guided tour with Rúnar Örn Jóhönnu Marinósson and Erna Kanema Mashinkila of Elements exhibition in Hafnarhús on Culture Night. This summer Rúnar and Kanema have welcomed all students in the oldest age group of the School of Work for an enjoyable and educational day at Hafnarhús. The exhibition Elements presents recent works by contemporary artists who evoke associations with these fundamental forces of nature in various ways but in ancient times the world‘s material world was divided into four elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. The works of six artists examine environmental changes, focusing on the transformation of non-biological matter, such as melting, solidification, evaporation, and crystallization. The scale and acceleration of natural processes around us remind us that the world is on the brink. Where are we headed, and what comes next?
