A new art-piece is now exhibited on The Nail in Sólheimar City Library. An acrylic painting named Grein painted by Jóna Bergdal. Dóra Bergrún Ólafsdóttir, librarian in Sólheimar City Library chose the art-piece this time.

The Nail is an art exhibition at Sólheimar City Library where only one art-piece is showcased at any given time. This is the 20th piece to be exhibited on The Nail. All pieces showcased are provided by the Artótek.

Jóna Bergdal is born and raised in Eyjafjörður, a fjord in the northern part of Iceland, but now she lives in Akureyri and has her studio there. Jóna graduated from the Akureyri School of Visual Arts in 2003, and over the years she has also attended many courses and lectures in her field to acquire more knowledge on the subject. She is a member of the Association of Icelandic Artists and The Nordic Watercolour Society. Jóna has held many solo exhibitions as well as participating in many group exhibitions, for example in Italy, Spain, Wales and Finland. She found her calling at a young age and she has made drawings and paintings all her life. Her work is often inspired by Icelandic nature and the environment. She has been unafraid to try something new and has tried many different techniques in her work, by doing that she improves herself as an artist. In her work she often uses acrylic or oil paint, but the last few years watercolours have had her heart and soul and have therefor been more prominent in her work.

The piece can be bought or rented, with the opportunity of ownership once the rent has reached the sales price. The buyer (or rentee) of the piece Grein can select the next art-piece, from the Artótek, to be showcased on The Nail.
This painting can be rented for 3.000 kr. a month or bought for 90.000 kr.
