Katari performs in Kaldalón Music Hall in Harpa on Reykjavík Culture Night. Entrance is free and everybody is welcome as long as there is space. The concert is organized by the Embassy of the Faroe Islands in Iceland in collaboration with Harpa. Katari wishes, through their music, to create a universe where opposites meet. Floating vocal melodies are set against irregular rhythms and heavy themes; the music is colored by a light and peaceful mood that hides something simmering just beneath the surface. The songs revolve around the feeling of being lost in another world in both the best and worst way, exploring themes such as anxiety, heartbreak, and discovering what you want to do with your life. The soundscape is acoustic and in a bossa nova style, featuring jazz-inspired riffs on guitar and saxophone. Katari is Katrina Olsen, singer and saxophonist and Ari Johannesen on guitar. They are joined by Helgi Snorri Seljeseth on violin and Jon Ingvi Seljeseth on drums.
