Grandi Shuttle

Three experiences, one easy ride

Down by Reykjavík’s Old Harbour, the Grandi District has slowly grown into one of the city’s most interesting corners. Old fish factories now sit beside cafés, small museums, and a few experiences you won’t find anywhere else.

Here you can watch real molten lava flow at Lava Show, glide across Iceland’s landscapes at FlyOver Iceland, or marvel at the giants of the ocean at Whales of Iceland.

Getting there is simple.

The Free Grandi Shuttle

A free shuttle connects the city centre with the Grandi District every day between 11:50 and 15:46. It stops at a few familiar points in town before continuing to the attractions by the harbour.

Shuttle stops

  • Bus Stop #1 - City Hall
  • Hilton Nordica
  • Reykjavík Grand Hotel
  • Bus Stop #9 - Snorrabraut
  • Bus Stop #5 - Harpa
  • Miðbakki (Old Harbour)
  • Lava Show
  • FlyOver Iceland
  • Whales of Iceland

The first departure leaves Bus Stop #1 at 11:00, with hourly departures throughout the day.

Step on when it suits you, and follow the harbour west. The next stop might be flowing lava, a flight across Iceland, or a close look at the creatures that swim just beyond the bay.

Please note that the final afternoon stops at Lava Show, FlyOver Iceland, and Whales of Iceland are for drop-off only.

Take your time — Grandi is a good place to wander for a while.
