FlyOver Iceland is an immersive flight simulation experience located in the Grandi area of Reykjavík, combining storytelling, technology, and landscape into a single indoor attraction. It recreates the sensation of flying across Iceland, offering a perspective that would otherwise be difficult to access.
The experience centres on a motion-based ride where visitors sit suspended in front of a 20-metre wraparound screen, with their feet dangling as the film carries them over glaciers, fjords, volcanoes, and remote terrain. Movement, combined with effects such as wind, mist, and scent, is used to simulate the feeling of flight.
Before the main ride, a series of pre-shows introduce elements of Iceland’s natural forces, history, and folklore through multimedia installations. These spaces, including a recreated longhouse setting and immersive visual displays, frame the flight within a broader narrative about the island.
The attraction operates year-round, with experiences running at regular intervals throughout the day. Located at Fiskislóð in Grandi, it is accessible by foot, car, or shuttle from central Reykjavík, and includes an on-site café offering light meals and drinks.
