Watachico is the latest project by Kristofer Rodríguez Svönuson, where he explores South American musical traditions in a personal and expressive way — blending them into his unique sound world. The result is percussion-driven, improvised music. Watachico is honored to be joined by the wonderful Nola Copa brass band from the Kópavogur school orchestra, directed by Össur Geirsson. The members of Nola Copa are: Bríet Helga Hjartardóttir Ísberg, Egill Orri Ormarsson Líndal, Hildur Bella Rafnsdóttir, Margrét Kristín Kristinsdóttir, Rúnar Páll Árnason and Þóra Sif Óskarsdóttir. Watachico released its first song, Watachico, at the beginning of this year and more songs will be released this year. Watachico consists of Daði Birgisson, Daníel Helgason, Ingibjörg Turchi and Matthías Hemstock. The event will take place in Flói in Harpa.
