The course is the first in a series of introductory courses in working with clay using hands and simple hand tools. Students will shape an object using the coiling method under the guidance of a teacher. They will also have the opportunity to color the object with color slips, but the teacher will glaze all the objects with a clear glaze. After the course, participants should have gained a sense of the possibilities and limitations of the method and be able to use it in independent work. Since this is an introductory course, the course is specifically tailored to the needs of beginners. Even more advanced students are welcome to attend the course, as it is an ideal opportunity to clay in the company of others. 2 courses are offered. Both courses will be held in the afternoon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The first course is from June 13-15 and the second from June 15-17. August. Completion of the course is based on 80% attendance. Teaching will be in Icelandic.
