A workshop for kids in the winter brake.
What are patterns, how did they come to be and what do they mean?
In this workshop we detect and explore through drawing the patterns on objects on display at the National Museum of Iceland. What are the patterns? Where did they come from? What do they mean? How have they changed through time and how have they been used to decorate and beautify objects?
We explore how a patterns can be movement or repetition, also in nature. We can also investigate the patterns on our mittens or socks or in Pippi's Longstocking world.
Artist Vilborg Bjarkadóttir receives the children, leads the exploration, distributes drawing equipment and guides the drawing. All material in situ.
