The National Day on June 17th will be celebrated with a diverse and entertaining program featuring national costumes, folk dances, the lady of the mountain, vintage cars, accordion playing, Dillon's House Café and the classic National Day lollipops. Free entry for those who show up in national costumes, the disabled, kids and culture card holders.
The national costume and folk dances are at the forefront of the celebration and guests are encouraged to attend in their own national costume.
The Árbær Open Air Museum's lady of the mountain will be dressed in Lækjargata at 14:00, after which folk dance lessons will begin under the guidance of Atli Freyr Hjaltason of the National Dance Society.
Several members of the Antique Automobile Club will be attending with their sweet rides, which will be on display throughout the museum grounds.
The scouts will be holding a fundraiser on the museum square and delicious refreshments will be available at Dillon's House.
The colourful and delicious lollipops will be at their usual spot in "Krambúðin" sweets and souvenir shop.
Accordion music can be enjoyed at the square, Árbær farm and at Dillon's House Café.
Welcome!
