Reykjavík Art Museum welcomes visitors to a unique guided tour of the exhibition Dreamland at Kjarvalsstaðir with Dr. Pétur Pétursson, Professor Emeritus at the University of Iceland. Guided tour will be in Icelandic. The exhibition Dreamland focuses on Kjarval's fantasy works that contain mystical and religious references and symbols. In addition to Kjarval's works, paintings by Einar Jónsson are on display. During the tour, Dr. Pétur will connect Kjarval's works with philosophical and religious ideas that have shaped Icelandic society and culture. Dr. Pétur Pétursson has worked as a scholar and teacher at the University of Iceland for decades and is known for his research on the relationship between religion, society and culture. He has published numerous articles and books on church history, religious studies and the impact of Christianity on Icelandic society, and has been an active participant in academic discussions about the cultural heritage and identity of Icelanders.
