In this course, students will learn the main techniques of hand-building with clay and work on a variety of fun projects related to it, gaining an understanding of the clay process from shaping to firing. Students will also get the opportunity to try wheel throwing and will create functional items as well as abstract experiments. They will develop visual awareness, refine general working methods, and build a sense of form and material. The goal of the course is to foster creativity and confidence in artistic creation, and to promote joy and a positive experience of visual art and craftsmanship.
