Welcome to a talk about Laimonas Dom Baranauskas's exhibition "Years in Between" at Skotið. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome! The idea that beauty is only found in youth is persistent in society. The goal of Laimonas Dom Baranauskas with the exhibition "Years in Between" is to challenge this societal notion by showing the beauty and uniqueness that comes with age. Drawing on his multifaceted skill set in studio photography and photo editing, he discovered that he could depict the passage of time visually in portraits. By merging old studio photographs from old photo albums with newly captured images and metaculously replicating the original lighting, he was able to showcase the profound impact of time has on people's faces while revealing the enduring and unchanging essence. In the exhibition, Laimonas invites the viewer to reflect on the timeless nature of humanity amidst the ever changing flux of life.
