Salalaug pool

The main pool at Salalaug measures 25 × 15 metres and has a depth ranging from 1.0 to 1.6 metres. It features six marked competition lanes, which are typically shared between school swimming, public use, and training sessions. During public opening hours, two lanes are reserved for free swimming and play.

One of the pool’s standout features is the Iðulaug pool area, which offers a variety of water and air massage jets targeting the calves, lower back and hips, and upper back and shoulders. The adjoining hot tub also includes three bench seats with air massage, ideal for relaxation.

The indoor pool measures 16.7 × 1 metres and is 0.75–0.9 metres deep, making it particularly well suited to children and infants. The water temperature is kept between 33–34°C, while the indoor air temperature is maintained at around 27°C, creating a warm and comfortable environment. Infant facilities, including a changing table, are available.

A highlight for younger visitors is the river‑style water slide. At the top is a small, warm lagoon (approximately 34°C), from which the river flows down through the slide and continues into a wider current that circles an island in the pool, eventually returning swimmers close to the pool steps.

The pool complex also includes two hot tubs, one maintained at around 38°C and another warmer tub at approximately 42°C. In addition, a water organ with 40 different pipes adds a distinctive and playful element to the experience.
