Opening tomorrow: This years biggest art exhibition

The artwork on show reflects Icelandic nature as interpreted by different artists, with different styles, from various periods.

The exhibition "No Man's Land - Where Beauty Alone Reigns" will open tomorrow, on the 2nd of June. This will be the Reykjavík's Art Museum's most prominent display this year, overtaking both the Hafnarhús gallery and Kjarvalsstaðir.

The artwork on show reflects Icelandic nature as interpreted by different artists, with different styles, from various periods. This extensive exhibition contains work by artists who have been influential in Icelandic art history from the beginning of the 20th century to the present time. Some of the work is brand new, created especially for this exhibition.

Among featured artists are many of Iceland's best-known artist such as Jóhannes Kjarval, Ólafur Elíasson, Ásgrímur Jónsson, Katrín Sigurðardóttir and Georg Guðni. The younger generation also has their representatives.
