During the course, participants will try their hand at so-called risograph printing. This printing technology is somewhere between analog and digital. With photocopying, images are transferred to a stencil that is then wrapped around a printing drum through which the ink is pressed. This process takes place inside an actual risograph printer, which looks very much like an old photocopier.
This printing technology has been popular among designers and artists in recent years, but it originated in the 1970s. During the course, participants will have the opportunity to explore the different possibilities of this printing technology with the help of an instructor.
Working designers and artists are especially encouraged to attend the course, which is open to everyone, both beginners and advanced.
The course will take place on Saturday and Sunday mornings, the weekend of June 28th and 29th.
Completion of the course is based on 80% attendance. The course will be taught in English.
The photograph is of a print by the course instructor, Jösa Bäka, and is owned by the artist.
