If you could design your own playground equipment, what would it be like? Come to the Playground construction with ÞYKJÓ at the Reykjavík Art Museum, Hafnarhús, during the Children's Culture Festival! At the Playground consturtion, you can try out ambitious ideas in a variety of materials with the help of designers from ÞYKJÓ. The workshop is connected to the project "Children at the Table" which won the Icelandic Design Award in the category of Work of the Year 2024. The workshop is intended for children from 4 years of age accompanied by adults, admission is free and open to everyone. ÞYKJÓ is a multidisciplinary team of designers who work for children and their families in the fields of experience design, installations and product design. Their design work aims to stimulate children's imagination and creativity in collaboration with educational and cultural institutions. Recent projects include the installation Hljóðhimnar in Harpa, the furniture lines Kyrrðarrými and Hreiður, and the participatory project Gullplatan: Let's Send Music into Space! ÞYKJÓ won the Design Award in 2024 and was also nominated for the same award in 2021 and 2022. The team was also nominated for the international YAM Award.
