Sonar music festival is on this weekend

The 6th annual instalment of Sónar Reykjavík will take place on 16th-17th of March. Like before, the focus is on the world of electronica, hip-hop and other modern music.

Sónar Reykjavík is an offspring of Sónar Barcelona, which has been held in sunny Spain since 1994. Very unlike its parent, Sónar Reykjavík is set in winter, with snow, darkness and northern lights to be expected. The venues are the music halls of Harpa, with the parking basement transformed into a nightclub.

Headlining this year are Underworld, Danny Brown, TOKiMONSTA, Lindström, GUSGUS, Kiasmos, Nadia Rose, Denis Sulta, Ben Frost, Lena Willikens, Bad Gyal, Lorenzo Senni. All in all 50 Icelandic and international bands and artists will perform.
