Turf House Food Truck

Welcome to a food truck that brings the spirit of Icelandic nature and culinary traditions to life. Created by two close friends with a shared passion for Iceland and cooking, it offers a distinctive addition to Reykjavík’s food scene.

Inspired by traditional Icelandic turf houses, the truck features a moss-covered roof and is located in the heart of the city, close to Hallgrímskirkja. Its design reflects a connection to Iceland’s architectural heritage and natural surroundings.

The menu draws on classic Icelandic flavours and local ingredients:

• Icelandic seafood soup – cooked to perfection with fresh local fish and served with grilled bread
• Icelandic fried fish – rich with flavours from the surrounding ocean and offered with Icelandic baby potatoes, Turf House sauce, fresh salad, coleslaw, and a wedge of lemon  
• Lamb burger – made using high-quality, locally sourced lamb and served in a black bun, with a side of Icelandic baby potatoes. 

Beyond the food itself, the experience is designed to reflect Icelandic culture. The aim is to evoke the country’s landscapes, from rugged terrain to pure coastal waters, and to highlight the traditions that have shaped life on the island.
