The motto of Sæmundarskóli is joy, respect, and cooperation. They set the tone for the school atmosphere
and are a guiding light in the work. The vision applies to everyone in the school community, staff, students, parents/guardians and others who
are relevant.

Joy
We choose to be positive and solution-oriented in our work.
Our goal is that learning is suitable for everyone. We try to take into account interests and different learning styles. Teaching methods are varied and learning can take place both indoors and outdoors.
Thematic studies are the heart of the school work, where it is possible to immerse yourself in subjects and integrate study subjects, including Arts and crafts. In this way, as many students as possible should be given the opportunity to enjoy their talents and flourish in school.

Respect
Our behaviour should be characterized by respect for ourselves and others - care should be taken in the presence of the soul. We use the PBS discipline system to reinforce positive behaviour.
We also treat our environment with respect, take care of plants and enjoy the outdoors already
opportunity arises.

Collaboration
We own this school together and work together to make it constantly better. Good cooperation brings us more success in our studies and work and strengthens the school community as a whole.
