Hvammsvík gives you an authentic Icelandic bathing experience in a natural setting.
Within a 45-minute scenic drive from Reykjavik City Center. At Hvammsvík, you can escape the crowds and relax while enjoying the magnificence of raw Icelandic nature.
Hvammsvík's 8 natural hot springs are nestled in a black sand beach at the bottom of Hvalfjörður fjord, one of the most majestic fjords in Iceland. The surrounding mountains frame the stunning views.
The elements control your experience at Hvammsvík. Each visit is unique. You can witness the sunrise in the spring or the Northern Lights during winter. One of the hot springs disappears under the ocean during high tides, and you can feel the calmness of nature while lying in one of our hot springs listening to a choir of eider ducks. If you are lucky, a curious seal might swim up to the hot springs.
In addition to the hot springs, guests at Hvammsvík have access to a steam bath and the best cold plunge pool in the world—the North Atlantic Ocean. It's a euphoric experience to feel your body warm up in the hot water after a swim in the ocean. To add to the experience have a cold drink at our swim-up bar.
The geothermal water comes straight from the source near the hot springs and is cooled down with the cold ocean before it enters the pools. The blend of geothermal water and seawater provides a gentle treatment for guests' hair and skin.
Guests can enjoy Hvammsvík's signature self-care products in the changing rooms. Crafted in Iceland, these products feature essential oils and wild herbs sourced from around the hot springs. They are thoughtfully designed to cleanse the skin and hair while maintaining the body’s natural protective barrier.
After a nice soak in Hvammsvík hot springs, you can enjoy their famous seafood soup at the bistro, which also serves loaded open sandwiches and drinks.
At the Hvammsvík estate, you can privately rent their stunning houses, thoughtfully renovated to modern standards while preserving their historic charm.
