Fischersund

The black house at Fischersund 3 has long been a place for creativity. Built in 1875 and once used as Jónsi Birgisson’s music studio, it is now home to Fischersund, a family‑run perfumery and art collective founded in 2017.

Created by siblings Jónsi, Lilja, Ingibjörg and Sigurrós Birgisdóttir, alongside close collaborators Sindri and Kjartan, Fischersund brings together perfume, music, visual art and storytelling under one roof. Each fragrance begins with a memory, reflecting the family’s belief that scent and sound share a rare ability to evoke emotion and transport us elsewhere.

Artisan perfumery lies at the heart of Fischersund. All fragrances are hand‑crafted using sustainable scent molecules and essential oils, with a deep respect for nature guiding every detail. All perfumes are vegan and cruelty‑free.

Fischersund is also home to The Music Collective, an integral part of the creative practice, where soundscapes and compositions are developed to accompany and deepen the sensory experience. These works are available online, including on Spotify, offering a way to engage with the project beyond the physical space.

Visitors are invited to step inside the shop to experience Fischersund’s signature scent journey — an immersive exploration of fragrance, often accompanied by bespoke schnapps, offering a moment of sensory discovery.
