Bíó Paradís shows new interesting films from all over the world as well as all kinds of older films, both foreign and domestic, hosts film festivals and organizes various film-related events.
Regular screenings of films for children and teenagers take place in the house, where the goal is to promote knowledge and education in this important art form. Bíó Paradís is therefore a kind of heart of film culture in the country; a destination for all those who want to have a good time in a relaxed environment with an authentic movie atmosphere.
Bíó Paradís is a collaborative platform for most of those involved in film in the country. These include film distributors (Sena, Græna ljósið, Myndform, Samfilm); Stockfish Reykjavík Film Festival, Reykjavík International Film Festival, Reykjavik Shorts & Docs, Reykjavík Short Film Days; The Icelandic Film Center (which has its offices on the second floor of the building) and the Icelandic Film School. In addition, the cinema collaborates with various other parties on screenings and other film-related events in the building.
