The Reykjavík Capital Region isn't a single city. It's six municipalities that unfold into one another: Reykjavík, Kópavogur, Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær, Mosfellsbær, and Seltjarnarnes.

Around 249,000 people live across them, most within sight of mountains or the ocean. Each has its own character, its own pace. They’re different, but connected — by nature, cycling paths and buses, swimming pools, and everyday routines.

Reykjavík City Centre

Get off the beaten track and take bus number 1 from downtown Reykjavík for 20 minutes to Hafnarfjörður. Harbour Village is perfect to explore on foot, with free museums, curious little jewellers, cafés, boutiques and galleries.

Mosfellsbær & Mosfellsdalur

Garðabær

Seltjarnarnes & Grótta
