Passports & Visas
Before you travel to Reykjavík it’s important to be aware of the passport and visa regulations regarding entry to Iceland.
All visitors to Iceland must carry a valid passport.
Nationals of EEA (European Economic Area) countries need not apply for a visa; however they will need to bring with them a passport valid for at least three months from the return date.
Iceland joined the Schengen states on March 25, 2001. Visitors from non-Schengen countries who do not hold a valid Schengen visa in their travel document need a visa to visit Iceland and must apply for a visa before travelling to Iceland.
Visa applications are handled by Icelandic Embassies and Consulates operating services on behalf of Iceland.
