UEFA 2017 Fanzone in the heart of Reykjavik

An official Fanzone for the UEFA European Football Championship 2017 in Holland will open at Ingólfstorg on July 16 and be open to the public throughout the competition. All matches will be shown along with family friendly entertainment.

An official Fanzone for the UEFA European Football Championship 2017 in Holland will open at Ingólfstorg on July 16 and be open to the public throughout the competition. All matches will be shown along with family friendly entertainment.

Ingólfstorg is located in downtown Reykjavík. The event is prompted by the participation of the Icelandic women’s football team in the European championship in Holland. This is a big occasion in Icelandic sporting history, which will be showcased in the heart of Reykjavík.

The aim is to recreate on Ingólfstorg the atmosphere of the terraces at the football stadia in Holland and to add color and excitement to the city-centre experience. All the matches will be free for the public to watch in and around the square. The Iceland games will be highlighted especially. Everything will be geared to families. Emphasis will be placed on introducing the younger generation to football through games and challenges organized by the Football Association. Scenes of the fun atmosphere on the square will also be televised in connection with TV coverage of the championship.

The event is hosted by the Icelandic Football Association, in collaboration with, Landsbankinn, Icelandair, N1, Coca-Cola European Partners Ísland, Borgun and Íslenskar Getraunir and the City of Reykjavík.

The Icelandic women’s national football team will be competing on these dates
18 July at 6:45 PM - Iceland vs. France
22 July at 4:00 PM - Iceland vs. Switzerland
