Seal mother - a saga poem (2024-2025) is written by composer Ingibjörg Azima to the lyrics of Gerður Kristný, one of Iceland´s greatest contemporary poets. Seal mother is Reykjavík Opera Days Festival in Hafnarhúsið, Sunday October 19th and Monday October 20th at 20:00. Seal mother tells a dramatic story of a fisherman's widow, fighting for the survival of herself and her children in harsh conditions in the North West of Iceland over a hundred years ago.
