In a New Light - Light Trail

“In a New Light” is a light and sound installation that explores self-identity, tenderness, and reflection. The work invites viewers to step out of self-judgment and imagine seeing themselves through the eyes of someone who loves them unconditionally. Through the interplay of light and shadow across the varied surfaces of the installation and its surrounding environment, combined with the artist’s sound work, a space emerges where self-reflection can transform into compassion.

The work is dedicated to all those who were unable to step out of the darkness of self-hatred. The sound piece takes the form of a hymn, and the text of the work is written for the artist’s daughters, growing from a maternal desire to convey a particular way of seeing: that we are more than we allow ourselves to believe, and that sometimes all it takes is a shift in perspective to see the world — and ourselves — in a new light.
