Museum Night at the Library of Hafnarfjörður / Winter Lights Festival

Strandgata 1, 220 Hafnarfjörður

Hafnarfjörður Library

6. February 2026

Open from 18:00–22:00

Museum Night, February 6th at the Hafnarfjörður Library!

Doors will open at 18:00 with coffee, chocolates and cosy atmosphere. There will be board games in the music department, and a sewing workshop on the 1st floor, but our friends from the Heimar and himingeimar team will be tinkering away. A workshop for children will be held at 18:15-19:45, perfect for small fingers that want to test their mettle. Materials will be provided.

At 19:30 the band LEA, consisting of Katrín, Lára and Elli, will make music and merriment. Playing in the style of indie pop and folk music, they focus on personal and lyrical texts in their work, seeking inspiration in the people around them and the beautiful nature of Iceland. Two members of the band, Katrín and Lára, will perform for us.

Workshop with assistance for those interested in historical and costuming crafts will be at 20:10, lead by master Tailor Hugrún Þráinsdóttir. Basic materials will be there, but should you wish to work on something specific, please bring your own projects and join in!

We will also host a music-thrifting market in the music department – rehoming records, CD’s and books that are looking for a new owner.

We’re looking forward to seeing you!
