- Origin and Landscape of Perception

Choreographers Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo reimagine the garden as a landscape of perception, where the boundaries between the visible and the tangible blur and experiences flow together. The dance unfolds like an organic process in constant formation.

The main stage of Borgarleikhúsið is transformed into a garden. The entire stage is covered in turf and becomes an orchard—a man-made landscape shaped by the dancers through their movements. The atmosphere shifts, intimacy is created, and attention moves from external stimuli to inner experience. The audience observes how the landscape comes into being and dissolves once more. A living space where dance, time, and emotion intertwine.

Within The Garden, the world appears at every scale, as in nature itself. In every cell there is life, and in every drop an entire world. Here, the audience steps into a miniature image of the universe that reflects humanity in its purest form.
