Welcome to an exhibition opening in D-Gallery! Thursday 29 May at 17h00 in Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús. Everything I want to tell you Sadie Cook and Jo Pawlowska exhibit a new installation at the 51st edition of the D-Gallery exhibition series where emerging artists, who are shaping the local contemporary art scene, are invited to hold their first solo show in a public museum. You are greeted by hundreds of still and moving images that span staged dream pictures, screenshots of late-night conversations, glitched selfies, and medical documentation. Each work is a facet of the artists ‘exploration of the limits of their own bodies as surfaces on which experiences are traced. The exhibition is based around the fantasy of existing beyond the infinite constructed binaries that shape all our lives; Male/female, past/present, rich/poor, sick/health, pain/pleasure, digital/physical, and how the edges of those fantasies abrade against the spaces we currently find ourselves in.
