Urta - a sagapoem will be premiered at the opera festival Óperudagar on 19th. and 20th. of October 2025. Urta – a sagapoem is a musical journey through the poem Seal mother by one of Icelands most recognized contemporary poets; Gerður Kristný. The music is written for a soprano, piano, french horn, timpani and percussion. Urta – a sagapoem tells the story of a mother´s fight for survival for herself and her children in the harsh living condition of a remote farm on the North coast of Iceland in the beginning of the last century. The concerts will be in the Multipurpose hall in Hafnarhús. Tickets are 2.500 kr, and can be purchased on tix.is
