Despite being a significant proportion of our community, immigrant women are disproportionately underrepresented in public discourse and decision-making processes in Iceland.  W.O.M.E.N. invites you to a panel featuring a diverse line-up of women who have done extensive work towards the empowerment and inclusion of women of foreign origin in society, including many of whom are women of foreign origin themselves.  The discussion explores the status, challenges, and opportunities of women of foreign origin participating in their communities and invites the audience to share and engage in a follow-up Q&A session.

The panel includes Muona Nasr – vice chair of WOMEN, who will moderate; Barbara Jean Kristvinsson; Sabine Leskopf – former WOMEN board member; and Sonja Ýr Þorbergsdóttir – Chair of BSRB Federation of Public Worker Unions in Iceland, Madhya Malik representing Muslim immigrant women community.

The event is from 14:15-15:00 and will be in English.
